UNFREEDOM

"Unfreedom" delves into the sensation of imprisonment through its stereotomic design. The thick columns at each corner starkly contrast with the slender voids stretching from top to bottom on all four sides, generating a profound sense of impermeability. This scale creates a claustrophobic atmosphere for anyone passing through. The voids further amplify the feeling of unfreedom as they seem to absorb all light, redirecting focus back to the monumental columns.
The symmetry of "Unfreedom" evokes a sense of balance, order, unity, and sameness, accentuating its imposing features. When viewed from above, the Greek cross shape at the center becomes evident, acting as a cross-bracing that supports and connects the entire structure.
"Unfreedom" is an exploration of the intense emotions that architectural forms can convey.
